Most custom pairs land between $45 and $75. Ready-made designs from the shop run $35–$65. We'd rather say that plainly at the top of the page than make you fill in a form to find out.
You'll always get a firm number before you commit, and nothing is charged until you've seen a mock-up and said yes.

These are honest ranges rather than a rate card. If your idea sits between two rows, ask — the answer is free.
Where the hours actually go
This is the part nobody itemises, so here it is for one real pair — a light-up design with a crystal field and a sculpted face:
- Design and fabric selection, 30–60 min. Sequin fabric behaves completely differently under Florida sun than it does under a parade light. Colours that look right on a screen frequently read flat in person. This step is mostly rejecting things.
- Cutting and building the base, 45 min. Foam batting shaped over the band, velvet trim along the underside. The part nobody photographs and the part that decides whether you're still wearing the ears at 9pm.
- Sculpting and painting a face, 60–90 min. Flexible foam, shaped, sealed, hand-painted. It's why no two come out with quite the same expression.
- Setting crystals, 45–120 min. One at a time, by hand, with tweezers. There is no faster way that doesn't look like there was a faster way.
- Wiring and fitting the lights, 30 min. Sewn into the bow rather than glued on top, so the glow diffuses through the fabric instead of showing as a row of hard dots. Battery flap constructed behind the bow.
- Finishing, 30 min. Trimming, securing, checking every glued point, photographing.
That's five to seven hours for one pair. Simpler designs are closer to three.
The honest comparison
You can buy ears for $15. They will arrive, they will look broadly like the photograph, and for a single evening they may be exactly the right purchase — we're not going to pretend otherwise.
What you're buying at $45 is a rigid-plastic band replaced with a padded flexible one, feathers sewn as well as glued so they don't shed down your shoulders by lunchtime, crystals set individually rather than applied as a sheet, and a person who will answer a message if something goes wrong. On a two-hour evening those differences are invisible. On day four of a park trip in August they are the entire experience.

Questions we get asked
How much does a custom pair of mouse ears cost?
Most custom pairs land between $45 and $75. A colour change to an existing design sits at the lower end; a sculpted face with hand-set crystals and built-in lights sits at the upper end. You get a firm price before you commit to anything, and there's no deposit until you approve the design.
Why do handmade ears cost more than the ones on the marketplace?
Because a pair takes between three and nine hours of one person's hands. The materials are a small fraction of the price — most of what you're paying for is time, and the difference shows up in the band, the finishing, and whether the thing survives being worn.
Is there a deposit?
Only after you've seen and approved the design. You'll get fabric suggestions, a mock-up and a firm price first, and none of that costs anything or commits you to ordering.
Does a colour change cost extra?
Usually not. Swapping the base colour of an existing design to another fabric we already hold is free — just ask before ordering.
Do group orders get a discount?
Yes, and it scales with the size of the set. Tell us how many people and we'll quote it properly rather than multiplying a single-pair price.
What is included in the price?
The mock-up, any revisions before you approve, the pair itself, photographs of the finished work, and free shipping anywhere in the United States. There are no add-on fees.
